Akha Coffee Co. Ltd was established through the sustainable development initiative of the Royal Thai in 1969. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej H.M was aimed to replace the cultivation of opium with coffee among the hill tribespeople in the Mekong Highland region, also called Mae Suai District. This initiative has truly contributed to the lifestyle and the living standard of Akha and other hill tribespeople.
